Mike Kill (1964-71) writes:

My older brother David passed away in May after suffering from very aggressive prostate cancer. He and I were born in Fareham and came to Price’s in 1963 and 1964 respectively. We both enjoyed our years at the then all-boys Grammar School under Eric Poyner and Tom Hilton, and David wrote an amusing memoir about the characters on the staff in the 1960’s, which can be found on the Society’s website David Kill remembers staff....

David majored in sciences at Price’s and left in 1970 to study medicine at University College London. He did well academically, obtaining a First in Anatomy, and at one point looked destined for a career in research. However, he changed course and entered the medical industry, ultimately leading and managing clinical trials for major drug companies.

At the same time in the mid 1980’s he found a strong Christian faith and became a pillar of the local church in Slough, where his funeral will be held in a couple of weeks. Then in 1992 he married Elizabeth, who together with their children and grandchildren made his life completely fulfilled.

In recent years David very much enjoyed attending the Society’s Summer Lunches in Fareham with Elizabeth, and the Christmas London Lunch at the RAF Club with their son Alistair, who is serving in the RAF.

David and my former class-mate the Hon Sec also successfully persuaded me to join the Society! I am sorry that for the saddest of reasons my wife Trish and I were unable to attend the Lunch on Sunday, which I was pleased to hear was a great success in lovely weather. Until recently David had been hoping to come along with Elizabeth, and was very disappointed when he realised this would not be possible. I am glad he was mentioned on the day.

Best wishes,

Mike
